‘War dogs’ is a war comedy drama, based on an article ‘Rolling Stone’ by Guy Lawsen. The movie was previously called arms and dudes.

War Dogs is an American biographical crime war comedy drama film, released on august, 19, 2016 by Warner Bros Pictures. The film was previously known as Arms and Dudes and based on Guy Lawsen article called Rolling Stone, after the success of article, Lawsen converted the article in a book called ‘Arms and Dudes’ that earned a huge acclaim. The film is directed by Todd Phillips and written by Jason Smilovic, Stephen Chin and the director Phillips himself. The film earned well and it was beyond the expectations of the producers, they projected around $13 million but the movie earned more than $14 million in first three weeks, after its release in America.

The movie is a sheer work of fiction and drama, so applying logic on every scene of the movie does not make sense. The film revolves around two arms dealers, Efrain Diveroli and David Packouz, who gets a government contract to supply weapons to the U.S troops in Afghanistan. David after some erratic complications with her girlfriend got pregnant met his old day’s friend Efraim. Efraim is the owner of AEY, a company deals in a business of weapon supplies. Shattered by his previous life with his girlfriend and his weed smoking massage services, David decides to join Efraim, in his business. The movie revolves around the getting and execution of the contract they got from US government. The movie is good piece of hilarious drama.

Star cast of the movie enlists Jonah Hill, Miles Teller, Ana de Armas, J. B. Blanc and Bradley Cooper. Bradely is also a co-producer of the movie. The film was premiered in New York City on August 3, 2016 and the entire star cast attended the premier ceremony.

The movie has received a mixed reaction from the critics and has earned around $ 22 million till date. The movie has an approval rating from Rotten tomatoes, earning an average 58% rating based on 125 reviews with an average rating of 6/10. The character and performance of Jonah hill is widely acclaimed while others are just average. Metacritic, another critical website social platform, has rated the movie a score of 58 out of 100, based on 36 reviews, signaling towards an average mark for the movie. The movie is a light entertainer and if you are fond of ‘war type’ comedy movies, then you must go for it, whereas if you love a more serious kind of cinema then the movie is not a good choice for you.
